Newlyn in Black & White
Runs for 10 weeks from the 13th of September 2008 to the 15th of November 2008
Starts 10:00 AM at Penlee House Gallery & Museum in Penzance
The Newlyn School artists are best known as painters, but many of them also had astonishing talents as draughtsmen. This exhibition presents a selection of rarely seen drawings and etchings by artists including Stanhope Forbes, Walter Langley, Elizabeth Forbes, Laura Knight, Charles Napier Hemy and W.H.Y. Titcomb. Ranging from preparatory drawings and sketches to large scale finished works, this exhibition will prove that you don't always need colour to produce a moving and memorable image.
