Art Space is a locally run gallery, exhibiting exclusively the works of seven local artists, based in St. Ives. The gallery is a co-operative, run democratically by each of the artists, who take it in turns to be there in person, seven days a week. It is true, like many artists working in Cornwall, that these artists draw their inspiration from their environment, yet the individual painting styles vary from figurative to abstract, resulting in a diverse exhibition. The works are re-hung and rotated every four weeks, encouraging the artists to produce fresh work, however the space they have is limited and crammed full of a seeming hotch-potch of works. Don't let this appearance put you off . Amongst the crowded walls of "contemporary Cornish landscapes", there are some real gems; original, refreshing, unique.
